YouTube ban in Pakistan

YouTube is banned in Pakistan from a very long time. The reason is that someone has made the movie against the last prophet of Islam and someone has uploaded it on YouTube. So instead of banning the link, government of Pakistan banned the whole website.

If you see all around the world, if the government have any objection on anything on the web, they simply block the link of the website, no one bans the whole website except undemocratic and authoritarian regimes.

The people in Pakistan made an outcry about this movie and the movie got more publicity and free marketing, which Muslims mostly did.

If you don't like a movie or if a movie is against you or against something you are related to or you got offended anyhow then don't speak about it, it will die on it’s own eventually. In the world of media if you make an outcry, you are giving something an unnecessary importance and attention then definitely media will jump on it.

Whoever is associated with the showbiz world, there is a saying that every publicity is good publicity, so good or bad doesn't matter they are getting a free publicity.

Even I came to know about this movie when there was an outcry from the Muslims of Pakistan. Then I dig into this matter and came to know that this movie has been released a year ago and it is an insult to the last prophet. Due to an uproar the movie got limelight and more people came to know and watched this movie.

Due to this uproar, the government of Pakistan got a chance and banned the whole website, instead of blocking a single link.

What is the reason behind it?

As everyone knows that YouTube is one of the most visited website in the world for different reasons, one of which is 'information'. So the main reason to ban a whole popular website is to control the flow of information.

Because there are many videos of vote rigging in Pakistan and many other videos which shows and give information to a common person of Pakistan whoever have access to internet about their corrupt government.


So the main reason to ban the whole website is to control the flow of information and to stop people who were becoming aware of the corruption of the government by watching different videos of corruption in Pakistan
